How will life change in a pandemic?
- Schools, restaurants, and other places where crowds gather would close
- GP practices may close or relocate
- People with symptoms of pandemic influenza would be cared for at home primarily by family or friends
- Special phone lines would be set up to provide influenza advice
- Very limited doctor or nursing care would be available, and people would have to look after themselves to a large degree

Those without support at home would be sent to special facilities set up in the community, rather than regular hospitals, to reduce the rate of infection (some hospitals may be reconfigured to become these facilities).
